Reverend Redina Maria Thorpe Thomas, a native of Savannah, Georgia, has a personal journey that is as inspiring as her professional achievements. Born to proud parents Robert Lee Thorpe Jr. and the late Barbara Jean Thorpe McKiver, she is a devoted mother to her three grown daughters and a loving grandmother to her five grandchildren. Her journey, which began as a quiet Catholic schoolgirl, took a significant turn when she found her voice and calling. She is an ordained Reverend/Elder, a fervent advocate for women's rights, and a feminist, a stance she adopted after experiencing the gradual suppression of her rights by men. Her invitation to join a Christian Women anthology by renowned author Cheryl Polote Williamson marked a turning point in her life, leading her to new endeavors that facilitated her healing from past traumas. She is the director and founder of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization Finding A Path After Pain, Nuggets from the Heart Prayer Call, Great Godly Inspirational Sunday Morning, and the Finding A Path After Pain Facebook group. Her business emblems reflect her faith and symbolize her journey from adversity to discovering her true purpose.
Reverend Redina's academic journey is marked by significant achievements, underscoring her dedication and expertise. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master's in Education and Leadership. Her commitment to her profession has been recognized with two Teacher of the Year nominations, including one for Special Education Teacher of the Year. She is also a proud member of the Phi Lambda International Honor Society. Her literary prowess is displayed in her bestseller and award-winning book, 'Soul Source,' and as the co-author of 'Angels Amongst Us Devotional.' With her debut solo book project, 'When the Curtain Falls,', she achieved bestseller status in six categories. She was honored as a Co-author of the Year finalist at the Indie Author Awards for Book entitled 'Soul Source' and laureate of the 2017 Soar Awards.
Retiring in June 2020 after three decades of notable service in education, Redina continued her expertise as a substitute teacher. Her roles have been diverse, including elementary education center leader, behavior specialist, and Exceptional Children's Department chair. She is presently an Associate Pastor and Elder at Union Skidaway Baptist Church. Residing in Savannah, Georgia, Redina is an advocate for domestic violence and has presented on various platforms, sharing her story through print and radio broadcasts heard in multiple cities nationwide.
Although education was her original pursuit, her faith in God enabled her to serve His people's needs. As the new Pastor and Founder of Two Hearts Become One Ministries, she leads a ministry that offers a welcoming online space for individuals of all ages and backgrounds. The ministry fosters an inclusive community committed to worship, fellowship, and making Godly decisions, open to those with shared beliefs regardless of their past. She provides essential tools for spiritual rebirth, guided by the Holy Spirit, which includes healing, deliverance, prayer, faith, renewal, restoration, authenticity, forgiveness, and the revitalization of the heart, mind, body, and soul. "Two Hearts Become One Ministries," her latest ministry, holds a special place in her heart. It is evident that "Two Hearts Become One" was born out of her pain and the sorrow of a mother losing her eldest son, symbolizing their united hearts. The purpose of her Heavenly Father became apparent. Pastor Redina acknowledges her calling to assist others in their adversities, similar to her and her family's challenges in crossing their River Jordan.
Redina attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic School from kindergarten through middle school and is a proud alumnae of St. Vincent's Academy in Savannah, Georgia. She has contributed significantly to her community as the St. Vincent's Academy school board chairperson. Currently, she serves as treasurer on the alumnae board—her love for her community is evident in coordinating campaigns against domestic violence and providing written material and spiritual support.
Two Hearts Become One Ministries is a faith-based organization founded by Redina Thorpe Thomas, who serves as its pastor. The ministry experienced a Rebirth Resurgence beginning in 2016, as Redina felt God's presence guiding her from darkness to light, restoring her faith in herself. Through this divine healing, she flourished as a bestselling author, minister, Christian life coach and speaker, embracing these roles with deep appreciation. Together with her daughters and friends and supported by a modest weekly fee, they established a new congregation in Savannah, Georgia, dedicated to healing and deliverance. Redina established a legitimate 501(c)(3) organization. Following numerous divine signs, on February 10, 2023, she courageously applied for her pastoral license in Georgia, marking the official inception of her church. The concept for Finding A Path After Pain, initially an LLC and later a non-profit 501(c)(3), was conceived at her kitchen table with her mother, who inspired the logo and name. Although the purpose of the logo was initially unclear to Redina, it became evident over time. The loss of her eldest brother, Robert Leonard Thorpe, preceded the eventual clarity of the ministry's vision. Before Barbara's passing in 2017, they had selected a name and logo for the ministry, which was officially founded in 2016. At that time, Redina was puzzled by the need for a new logo and name, but it was part of a divine plan. It is clear that "Two Hearts Become One" emerged from the anguish of a mother losing her firstborn son, representing their fused hearts.
The will of Our Heavenly Father was manifest. Pastor Redina recognizes her vocation to aid others in their struggles, akin to her family's own tribulations in crossing their River Jordan. Drawing inspiration from Deuteronomy 30:18-20, as the Israelites approached the conclusion of their exodus to the promised land, Pastor Redina has committed her life to serving as a bridge over troubled waters.
She offers essential tools for spiritual rebirth under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, encompassing healing, deliverance, prayer, faith, renewal, restoration, authenticity, forgiveness, and the revitalization of the heart, mind, body, and soul.
